Visualizing in VR

Visualizing in VR

Watch this episode to learn about how VR can dramatically affect the speed of your workflow, how you can visualize your concepts and sketches in a whole new way, and why the industry's most technologically advantaged leap to date is creating the simplest of solutions for artists anywhere in the design pipeline...

The guest of this week's episode of the KitBash3d Festival, Jama Jurabaev, hails from Tajikistan and began his career in aerospace engineering before switching to concepting. Since then, he has been a senior concept artist at Lucasfilm, pushed towards art directing and directing, and worked for clients such as MPC, Axis Animation, Warner Bros., Marvel Studios, Legendary Pictures, Framestore and many more. His recent film credits include Ready Player One, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Guardians of the Galaxy and X-men: Days of Future Past.

If you don't have time to watch this 40+ minute episode, watch the quick insights below to pick up some of the philosophies of how using VR can improve your design work!

A) Jama's early concept of the "Zouwu", a monstrously fast and fierce feline beast from Fantastic Beasts 2. B) One of Jama's many designs for Fallen Kingdom's villainous Frankenstein-like dinosaur, the "Indoraptor".

Jama Jurabaev has been working in the industry for decades and has always been on the cutting edge of the necessary technology utilized for every day design tasks. While being a master of his craft, 3D has always posed challenges for him that VR has now eliminated. Watch below to find out why.

Jama shows why this technological leap equals simple design solutions.
