To compete in the challenge, use the free Secrets of the Luminara Kit to build your own world in concept art (still image), in motion (animation), or game development (UEFN island code and video). Then submit your creation on https://KitBash3D.com/secrets-of-the-luminara by filling out the submission form during the challenge period from October 7, 2024 9am through November 30 , 2024 9am Pacific time. Posts submitted after November 30, 2024 9am PT will not be considered.

KitBash3D will reach out to selected finalists and winners via email. No purchase is necessary to participate in the Secrets of the Luminara challenge.

Submissions for the Concept Award category must be an image with at least 1,000px by 1,000px resolution. The image can be any aspect ratio. Images must use at least one asset from the Secrets of the Luminara Kit.

Images can be created in any 3D software, however submissions created using visual AI tools are not allowed.

Submissions for the In-Motion Award category must be at least 5 seconds in duration. There is no maximum duration. Videos should be at least 1,000px by 1,000px resolution. There is no maximum resolution. Videos must use at least one asset from the Secrets of the Luminara Kit.

Submissions for the Game Award category must be a UEFN level (map) that is published with an accessible ISLAND CODE, as well as a video at least 15 seconds in duration. There is no maximum duration. Videos should be at least 1,000px by 1,000px resolution. Ensure that your UEFN experience complies with Epic Games’ content guidelines, avoiding any inappropriate or prohibited content. Avoid using copyrighted material that you do not have permission to use. This includes music, logos, or characters not owned by Epic Games. You must submit an ISLAND CODE and video for entry into the challenge.

Challenge submissions will be evaluated by our expert panel of judges based on incorporation of the theme, render quality, creativity, storytelling and playability (for the Game Award category). Qualifying submissions must use at least one asset from the Secrets of the Luminara Kit and incorporate the Challenge themes of uncovering an ancient civilization, and bringing their legends and myths to life.

When creating your world, consider the following:

• Incorporation of Theme: Secrets of the Luminara assets must be identifiably incorporated into the submission, and the style and theme should broadly reflect the prompt as described on the Challenge page.
• Render Quality: How well is the submission executed? Does it make good use of composition, lighting, and atmosphere? For animations, consider polishing with transitions, sound design, music, etc.
• Creativity: Is your submission unique or original? Does it transform the provided assets into something new and interesting? Your submission can be anything connected to the theme, like an environment, an interior, or anything you can imagine in the Luminara realm. Use your imagination and define your world!
• Storytelling: Is there an engaging story being told in the concept or animation? Does it hint at a full world within the Luminara realm beyond what’s shown in the submission itself? Remember, together we are telling the story of the entire world. What story will you contribute?
• Playability: Specifically for the Game Award category, the UEFN experience should have a clear and easily understandable objective. Players should know what they need to do to accomplish the objective. Before publishing, thoroughly test and identify any bugs or balance issues. The experience should be not only functional, but also enjoyable and accessible.

All judges are solely participating in the Secrets of the Luminara Challenge as individuals, and are not representing their employers or other affiliated companies. Their companies are not sponsors or partners of the Challenge. Participation in the Challenge or selection as a finalist or winner does not provide for any consideration of employment or other endorsement from those companies.

No substitution or transfer of prizes permitted, except at the sole discretion of KitBash3D. Prize availability is contingent upon sponsor participation and may be subject to change. If any portion of a prize is unavailable, KitBash3D reserves the right to substitute that portion of a prize with a prize of equal or greater value.

Each prize winner will be responsible for paying all costs and expenses related to the use of a prize including, but not limited to, applicable federal, state or local taxes, and any expenses that might reasonably be incurred by the prize winner in receiving or using the prize. Please consult a tax professional to discuss your particular situation.

Any prize not claimed under the terms of these Official Rules may be deemed, in KitBash3D’s sole discretion, to be forfeited.

Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Prize availability is contingent upon sponsor participation and may be subject to change. Winners are responsible for all applicable taxes and fees associated with their prizes. Participation is subject to eligibility requirements.

The Secrets of the Luminara Challenge is open to all members of the KitBash3D community who are 13 years of age or older and do not reside in one of the following countries or jurisdictions that have been sanctioned by the United States of America: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine, the Balkans, Belarus, Burma, Cote d’Ivoire, DR of the Congo, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, and Zimbabwe. Other individuals or entities specifically sanctioned by the U.S. are not eligible to participate. KitBash3D employees and contractors and their immediate family members are not eligible to receive prizes as part of the Challenge.

Due to shipping restrictions, the Community Award portion of the Secrets of the Luminara Challenge is only available to members of the community residing in the United States of America. Members outside the U.S. are not eligible to participate or receive prizes associated with the Community Award category.
