KitBash3d Festival: Maxx Burman

KitBash3d Festival: Maxx Burman

Back in late 2018, KitBash3d partnered with Twitch and ArtStation to hold the first digital art festival in conjunction with Twitch's incredibly popular Bob Ross Marathon. Each night featured live digital paintings, VR demos and interviews from some of the most prolific concept artists and art directors working in the film and video game industries. We wanted to release some episodes that you probably haven't seen yet, and hope that you find some inspiration or tips and tricks to help hone your craft during these times. Please enjoy this episode of the festival where our very own co-founder, Maxx Burman, creates a painting using the Industrial kit as our other co-founder, Banks Boutté, interviews him. The interview includes talks about how Maxx got into the industry by contacting 200 studios in a day and only getting 1 reply, and is incredibly inspiring for anyone trying to break in. Maxx also discusses client work vs personal work, as well as answers several questions from the community, so without further ado...

Maxx covers topics from the required patience as a beginner artist to cultivating the necessary discipline of tackling fundamentals like the rules of composition, color, mood, and much more...

After 60 min Maxx completes his image and even has time to squeeze in some happy trees, doing the late great Bob Ross proud.

Check out what other artists are doing with the Industrial Kit...
