Introducing Gameplay Ready Kits: Built for Real-Time Performance in Unreal Engine

Game developers have long used KitBash3D Kits to bring their worlds to life. Now, we’ve taken it a step further. Today, we're announcing a series of Kits rebuilt from the ground up to be optimized for real-time performance: instanced, collision-ready, and Nanite-compatible. These new Gameplay Ready Kits are specifically optimized for performance in Unreal Engine, so you can build bigger, faster, and better, whether you’re prototyping as a solo dev or shipping at scale with a full studio.

What Are Gameplay Ready Kits?

We’ve taken some of our most popular Kits and rebuilt them for real-time performance. With optimized geometry, reduced memory footprint, and seamless Unreal Engine integration, these Kits let you create immersive game worlds with greater efficiency and control.

Why This Matters

Building games is about more than great visuals. It’s about creating responsive, performant environments that support gameplay systems, dynamic features, and cross-platform deployment. That’s why our Gameplay Ready Kits focus on three pillars: performance, integration, and gameplay design.

🚀 Performance Optimizations

Massive Draw Call Reductions
All assets now use Packed Level Instances and instancing to reduce draw calls by up to 82%, a game changer for real-time rendering, lower-end hardware, and large-scale levels.

84% Less Mesh Memory
Average Kit size has dropped from 2.9GB to just 0.39GB, thanks to streamlined geometry, instancing, and redundant mesh removal. That means faster load times, smoother scenes, and more headroom for gameplay logic.

Lower Triangle Cost with Nanite
Without compromising asset fidelity, enabling Nanite significantly reduces the rendering cost of triangles at runtime. By leveraging Nanite’s virtualized geometry system, scenes maintain visual fidelity without the need for traditional LODs, making large, complex environments much more performant.

🛠️ Engineered for Unreal

Full Nanite Support
Translucent materials have been separated for compatibility with Nanite, giving you ultra-detailed assets without impacting rendering performance.

Custom Collision Meshes
All assets include handcrafted collisions under 255 tris, allowing for smoother traversal, better physics, and improved interaction across the board.

Modular Structures
Buildings, props, and interiors are broken into logical components, empowering you to build and modify environments dynamically, perfect for destructibles or runtime assembly.

🎮 Designed for Gameplay

Walkable, Navigable Worlds
We’ve rebuilt structures with player movement in mind. You can walk where it looks like you should walk, without hacks or invisible walls.

Smarter Material Usage
Material setups have been streamlined to reduce the material count per object, improving both performance and draw call efficiency.

Props Built to Scale
Props are now optimized with new UVs, atlases, and baked textures, ready for reuse across your game without bloating performance budgets.

What’s Included

We’ve re-released 12 Kits in the new Gameplay Ready format:

Sci-Fi Kits: CyberPunk, Cyber District, Cyber Streets, CyberPunk Interiors, and CyberPunk Vehicles

Fantasy (Medieval) Kits: Enchanted, Enchanted Interiors, Enchanted Vehicles, Medieval Siege, and Medieval Market

Free Kits: Mission to Minerva and Secrets of the Luminara

If you've previously purchased one of these Kits, Gameplay Ready files are available free of charge. Head to your account page to download the updated files.

All Kits include collision meshes, optimized geometry, and new material setups, and they’re all available via an updated Unreal Importer in Cargo. This updated importer not only enables our new Gameplay Ready Kits, but improves the entire Kit library, enabling Nanite support and adding instancing even for Kits not yet fully converted to the new Gameplay Ready format.

Finally, every future Kit we release will be Gameplay Ready out of the box, so you can keep building with confidence, knowing your tools are built for performance from the start.
