KitBash3D and Epic Games Partner to Bring Photorealistic Asset Library to Fortnite Creators

Hey KitBashers! We are thrilled to announce a new partnership with Epic Games during their State of Unreal keynote at GDC today. Together, we will bring our photorealistic library to Fortnite Creative through Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). During the keynote, Epic announced their new creator marketplace Fab, where our library will be for sale and, in the coming months, we'll be building bespoke KitBash x Fortnite Kits for creators using the platform.

“KitBash3D has long been recognized as one of the industry leaders in premium world-building assets for blockbuster movies and games. By bringing their library to Fab and partnering to create original Kits for UEFN creators, we’re connecting KitBash3D to a whole new audience of creators who will now be able to build diverse, high-fidelity experiences in Fortnite,” said Bill Clifford, GM, Creator Marketplaces, Epic Games.

If you know anyone who is creating in Fortnite or interested in making awesome experiences for that community this is exciting news as their whole suite of tools are about to level up! We will still maintain our own store and website where you’ll always be able to purchase Kits from us. There is no set release date for our library in UEFN yet but we’ll keep you posted as we go. Check out the press release below for the full scoop.

San Francisco (March 22, 2023) - KitBash3D has announced a partnership with Epic Games to bring the entire KitBash3D library to Fab, Epic’s new unified creator marketplace launching later this year. Fab will give all digital content creators a single destination to discover, share, buy and sell digital assets. The Alpha version of Fab is currently available as a plugin within Epic’s Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), a version of Unreal Editor that developers can use to create and publish experiences directly to Fortnite, released today in Public Beta. Epic revealed the news today during the State of Unreal keynote at the annual Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. KitBash3D is also building new bespoke UEFN Kits that will be released through the Fab plugin for UEFN over the next several months giving creators a head start in building photorealistic worlds within Fortnite.

"As we look towards the future of gaming and the development of the metaverse, the democratization of quality assets plays a critical role in realizing that reality. We couldn't be happier to collaborate with Epic Games, who shares our commitment to enable and inspire creators of the virtual frontier," said Banks Boutté, Co-CEO of KitBash3D

The KitBash3D library is a collection of over 10,000 premium assets that have been used in major film franchises including Dr. Strange, Black Adam, and Spider-man, popular TV shows like The Last of Us, Star Trek: Discovery, and Halo and AAA gaming titles such as The Last of Us Part II, NBA 2K, and The Elder Scrolls. The library offers a wide range of cohesive styles, such as CyberPunk, Americana, Warzone, and Utopia, that provide creators with all the necessary building blocks to craft stunning virtual worlds.

"We're excited to provide millions of Fortnite players the tools and resources they need to bring their ideas to life, and we can't wait to see what new forms of storytelling and gameplay stem from this community," added Maxx Burman, Co-CEO of KitBash3D

The KitBash3D Mission to Minerva Kit and tutorial are free and available now via the Unreal Engine Marketplace; additional KitBash3D assets will be made available over the coming months.
